Individual function boards deliver expansion capability for imageCLASS
products
Expansion boards include printer, network interface and fax.
Parallel Processing for Simultaneous Access to Multiple Functions
Modular expandable design
Fault tolerant design
Network Printing:
Through implementation of Canon's MultiSpot Network Printer Option,
the imageCLASS 2200 Series can support network connectivity and
printing, thereby leveraging the customer's network and accessing
machine functionality straight from the user's desktop.
With a network expansion board installed, the imageCLASS 2200 Series
models connect easily and provide support to the most popular networks
in the marketplace today, delivering enhanced device functionality
to the user at their desktop, across the entire network.
The imageCLASS 2200 Series provides Ethernet 10 Base-T connectivity,
supporting Novell Netware and Microsoft Windows NT Networks via
IPX/SPX and TCP/IP protocols, respectively.
In addition to the network interface board, Canon's MultiSpot Network
Printer Option also includes a printer board, appropriate printer
drivers, and Canon's NetSpot Device Management Software.
Canon's MultiSpot Printer Option ships standard with 4 MB of memory,
upgradeable to 20MB via industry standard SIMMs memory. Supporting
PCL5e/PCL6 printing, the imageCLASS 2200 Series is capable of supporting
simple to complex end user printing requirements.
Note: A parallel port is available for the imageCLASS 2210/2220/2250
only.
Faxing:
By adding the Super G3 fax board (standard on the imageCLASS 2220
and 2250), users can equip the imageCLASS 2200 Series models to
send and receive faxes at a speed of 33.6 Kbps, maximizing document
throughput and minimizing phone line charges.
Facsimile features include improved image quality with 400 dpi
resolution achieved through smoothing technology, and full 256-
shade grayscale. Up to 576 pages and up to 200 speed dials can be
stored in memory. The imageCLASS 2200 Series models support 11"
x 17" faxing and allow the user to scan documents into memory
prior to sending. The combination of compression technology and
transmission speed offered by these devices can result in substantial
operating cost savings over traditional facsimile products.
Network Scanning and Network PC Faxing
Network scanning and network PC faxing are available as options
for the imageCLASS 2210/2220/2250 only. These features are available
by adding the MultiSpot Document Distribution System option. This
software assists the imageCLASS 2210/2220/2250 in bridging the gap
between paper and digital worlds by allowing users to send or receive
faxes via their PCs, or share documents with other workgroup members
by using the network scanning features.
